5 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR DAILY WALK MORE EFFECTIVE

I don’t think I am the only one who has exercising as her “new year resolutions”. Everyone has this resolution and that is why I am here to help make your walk more efficient. By implementing just these 5 steps, you’ll notice many more good changes in your body by just walking.

SPEED UP

Walking around in a lousy manner will never help. If you want to get fitter and healthier then you have to start moving fast. Pick up your pace, try to walk the same amount of distance but with a slight increase of speed with every new day. A brisk pace burns more calories, remembering you’re there for a walk not for a stroll.

SEEK OUT HILLS

To take your walk to the next level, walk uphill. Now I know its tough to find hills in every locality but we have alternatives too. Seek out a higher elevation in your neighborhood like a constructed slope or a safe flyover or any elevated road. Doing your walk in this manner will require more strength from your legs and it will challenger your body.  

USE YOUR ARMS MORE

It is extremely important to use your arms in a walk. A power walk with swinging your arms in a more exaggerated manner will add intensity to your exercise and burn more calories. By moving your hands up and down in a fast pace will increase your heart rate, without even running.

HIT THE STAIRS

Walking up and down the stairs is more challenging than walking on a flat terrain since it requires a totally different sets of muscle group which is not used enough in a normal walk. Walking stairs can nearly double the amount of your calories burn compared to a regular brisk walk. Incorporating stairs in your walk will help you massively to become fitter.

CARRY SOME WEIGHT

Lastly, if you have included all of the above-mentioned points in your daily walk then this one is for you. If you want to take your walk three levels up then start increasing the total amount of weight you need to propel forward. A weighted vest or a rucksack can help you do that without changing your centre of gravity, by doing this you will increase the intensity of your walk and automatically burn more calories.
